Saprobic on cones of Chamaecyparis lawsoniana. Sexual morph: Apothecia 1.5–5 x 2 mm diam., gregarious, sessile, brownish, exterior surface glabrous. Receptacle turbinate when young and becoming cupulate to discoid at maturity. Disc concave to flat, dull olive tan to olive grey. Margin entire, slightly raised. Ectal excipulum composed of cells of textura globulosa to angularis, outer cells are pigmented, inner cells are hyaline. Medullary excipulum composed of hyaline cells of textura intricata. Subhymenium composed of cells of textura intricate, not clearly separated from medullary excipulum. Paraphyses 5–7 µm wide at the apices, numerous, branched, septate, filiform, slightly enlarged at the apices. Asci 316–368 x 14–18 µm, 8-spored, unitunicate, operculate, cylindric–clavate, rounded at the apex, non-amyloid. Ascospores 18–23 x 11–15 µm, ellipsoid, hyaline, aseptate, with refractive granular content, smooth-walled. Asexual morph: Undetermined (Description modified from Pfister et al. 2013).
